Game watched: Fulham 1-0 Stoke City
My first visit to the Cottage came long before Fulham and Stoke were locking horns at the Premier League. Buoyed by Al Fayed's money, Fulham were beginning their rise to the top under Kevin Keegan. I enjoy a visit to Fulham. The location is fantastic, and easy to reach from the north. Some good pubs in the area and the ground is beautifully located on the banks of the River Thames. My first visit was open standing in the away end. It's a shame the newly constructed (although only temporary seating) away end is now a neutral zone. Fulham are the only club with this in the Football League- treating their Saturday's almost more of a novelty than passion for the team. Craven Cottage is also the only ground I've ever seen someone fall asleep at a match.
