We visited Anfield for Steven Gerrard's testimonial, and I was very impressed. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially for a friendly, and You'll Never Walk Alone was just incredible. We sat in The Kop, where the legroom was somewhat lacking, but the singing was near-constant.

Anfield is a fair bit out of the city itself, in quite a residential area. There are a few pubs and takeaways about, but we didn't visit, as we were staying nearby at a friend's house. Liverpool city centre is fantastic though - loads of bars and clubs, and most seemed welcoming to football shirts, even on a Saturday night.

All in all, recommended. I'll go back.
