Game watched: Southend United 1-2 Cheltenham Town

Roots Hall is a well-located stadium, just outside of Southend town centre & right on the main road through the town. There's plenty of on-street parking in the vicinity of the ground, so very handy for drivers. We didn't have a per-match drink so I don't know what the pubs around the ground are like. There is, though, a small bar in the ground that's also open at half time. Food was reasonably priced & decent quality. The stadium itself is quite old, and there are pillars in all four stands so there are some view restrictions. Atmosphere was ok, plenty of banter as the away fans are situated net to the "singing section" of the home fans. Ticket costs, at £21, are a bit steep, but that's in common with the majority of League 2. Overall, worth a visit, if you're happy enough to do the long journey down!
