Game watched: Portsmouth 0-0 Norwich City
A 0-0 thriller. Norwich are topsy turvy this season - some nice team play but it disappears when key players are missing from system e.g Kenny McLean, Josh Sargent.
Decent travelling support from Norwich. Pompey fans in one corner made a bit of noise with play up pompey.
Most memorable item from the match was the number of yellow cards and free kicks the ref gave (sums up a poor game).
Norwich came here off the back of a 3-0 loss to bottom side QPR, Pompey had beaten Bristol City 3-0, so I think we set out to be tight first half and accomplished it. Lot of the game was played in the air which didn’t help us, although Josh Murphy had the balm at his feet in the first half a few times for them and looked good.
The pies are piglet pies which must be local thing - the guest pasty of turkey and cranberry was not as good as expected but still better than the usual football ground rubbish. Pint was a Pompey Pilsner - take that!
Food area was outside, was a mild ish December evening otherwise wouldn’t be ideal in rain or mega cold!
Atmosphere was good. Old ground which adds ambience. Although did have a hefty player which was probably the player of the match as covered a fair bit of ground and broke up a decent amount of play!
Stayed at hotel ibis in sight of the ground so ideal.
