Game watched: Yeovil Town 0-0 Tranmere
I arrived to Heathrow on Friday evening and took the underground to Paddington to catch my train to the southwest. The previous train had been cancelled so my train was filled to the last seat. I began to notice that the the train was running a bit late and initially I had only 16 minutes for the change of trains in Westbury. Somehow I made it to Yeovil Pen Mill, but it was a tight call. I stayed at Pen Mill Hotel for two nights, a wonderful country hotel with a great kitchen.
On Saturday I walked up to the city centre and did some sight-seeing. I found the Tesco car park, which sits on the old Huish ground. There was a pub next to it, where I watched the early kickoff. Around 2 I continued to Huish Park on foot. It was quite a walk so I was at the ground 15-20 minutes before kickoff.
Tranmere came into the game at position 5 in the L2 table, Yeovil was 15th and there was no alarm regarding a possible relegation at the end of the season. Yeovil was going to finish last in L2 after only 4 points from their eleven last games.
Yeovil were slightly better than Tranmere this Saturday, but that didn't matter in the end. The game ended goalless.
Huish Park was my 80th league ground. On Sunday morning I left Yeovil from Yeovil Junction. It turned out I needed a taxi to get the station as the shuttle bus didn't run on Sundays.
