Game No 3 of 7 on an August 2019 tour and my hottest game ever on the Isles. 28C when it started at 7.45 and 24C when it finished after the penalty shootout.  

Since SP is a difficult ground to get to these days, I jumped at the chance of seeing them trash Colchester United in the Carabao Cup. That would not be the case as the PL team left the pitch humilated by CUFC in the penalty shootout. Andros Townsend missed the first and then all nine penalty-takers that followed scored. 5-4 to Colchester after a goalless 90 minutes.

A disappointgly low crowd of 8898 had turned up. The temperature was probably the most lasting memory of this evening, if you didn't belong to the visitors.
