Heeding warnings not to look for signs to Port Vale town centre, the ground was easy enough to locate.  What was more tricky was any decent facilities around the stadium.  Once inside, the ground seemed vast, filled with empty seats and room for yet more to be installed,  The crowd was sparse.  Two goals from former Shrimpers was the almost inevitable outcome of the match and only a late consolation gave any gloss to the result.
