Having chosen a less than salubrious pub for a pre-match drink, my travelling companion from Leeds was shocked when I greeted the copper that walked in on first name terms - then again, he was from the Essex Constabulary... A scoreless first half gave way to a rash of goals as the Blues went one up and then 2-1 down before Southend snatched a late point through Shaun Goater's first strike for the club.  Feed the Goat!
