Carlisle hosted Yeovil in a League Two clash, where football most certainly wasn’t the winner Follow author Michael on Twitter here. The Pilgrimage Brunton Park, Carlisle. Home to one of the most remote grounds in the 92. For many clubs in the football league, the away trip to Carlisle is the longest they’ll have to make. The Non-League Challenge at Steel Park, Corby Town
Blogger and the92.net co-founder Pete reports back on an unforgettable experience getting behinds the scenes access to the #NonLeagueChallenge at Steel Park. Usually for me pre-season is a quiet time. Balancing doing the 92/ground hopping with work/family/life in general I tend to spend the time planning, banking my football chips for when the season starts. However there was a date that kept cropping up that confronted this notion. After doing an interview with the guys from ‘Play with a Legend’ earlier in the season they mentioned an initiative they were involved in called the Non-League Challenge. In a nutshell it’s… Read more »
Second time lucky at the Amex Stadium
Blogger and the92.net co-founder Pete made his second trip down to Sussex this year hoping this time to be able to get to the American Express Community Stadium. Ground: The American Express Community Stadium (68/92) Game: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Aston Villa Date: 18/11/2016 Second time lucky The Amex Stadium was proving a difficult obstacle to overcome on my 92 given its location of being a considerable distance from both my own home and my parents’ place. Once or twice previously it was earmarked for a trip that didn’t come to fruition, however last season it was very much… Read more »

Qualifying for Champions League Proper: Arena Națională, Bucharest
After the Champions League qualification exploits in Macedonia, our search was ever further harder, more teams had been eliminated, and quite a few in the region we were traversing. We spotted that Steaua Bucharest were due to play Partizan Belgrade at the enormous Arena Națională. It wasn’t quite perfect, we would have to shift our expected twenty four hour train journey to Istanbul from Bucharest, but, alas, no problem, we wanted football, and the calendar had been unkind to us twice. The first time was in giving us no domestic football to see in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau, when we… Read more »
Qualifying for Champions League Proper: Arena Filip II
A blog as @MossInBerlin travels through eastern Europe to the early qualification games to the World’s biggest club competition: The Champions League (proper). Fresh from the adventure in Zagreb, we scoured the UEFA competitions fixture lists again, looking at our planned travel route, to find a suitable fixture. A tasty little 2nd Leg of the Second Round of Qualification between FK Vardar and APOEL Nicosia in Skopje fitted suitably and didn’t require a change to our travel plans, or a 400 km diversion like the Zagreb trip. The game was delicately balanced after the first leg resulted in a 0-0 draw,… Read more »
2 steps closer to the 92 club within a few hours!
Blogger and the92.net co-founder pb1uk recalls a memorable day groundhopping moving 2 rungs up the 92 club ladder within an hour of one another. My dad and I used to go on sporting holidays in my teens, we’d stay at relatives in the midlands (we live down south) and take in as many games as we could within 10 days at the start of the season. We had been to a fair few Reading games in the 2001/02 season, as a family friend was a season ticket holder. The Royals secured promotion and they started the new season in the… Read more »
