15th May 1999 Wigan Athletic 1-1 Manchester City. The Latics waved goodbye to Spring field Park will a one all draw in the Division Two Play Off Semi Final first leg against Manchester City. The home side opened the goal inside the first minute with Stuart Barlow scoring after 20 seconds, but City restored parity with Paul Dickov scoring the last goal at the ground. City won the second leg 1-0 and when on to win promotion in a remarkable final beating Gillingham on penalties after being 2-0 down with one minute of normal time to play.
