30th April 2005 Coventry City 6-2 Derby County. Coventry gave Highfield Road the perfect send off with 4 goals in the first half with a brace from Gary McSheffrey with Dele Adebola and Stern John also getting in on the act. The visitors threatened a come back with Adam Bolder pulling one back but Stern John restored the 4 goal cushion with his second. The Rams again clawed one back with Paul Peschisolido but Sky Blues substitute Andrew Whing stole the show with a stunning half-volley with his first touch to score the last competitive goal at the ground.
